1)  Blue Walleye:
 
Renowned angler and popular outdoor writer Jim Kalkofen did a wonderful write up on the exclusive blue walleye in Northwind Lake.  The article "Is it a Walleye?" is featured at walleyefirst.com (link: "Is it a Walleye") and will be published locally near Brainerd, Mn. 
 
 
2)  Pasha Lake goes international - yet again!

3)  Potatoes
 
Halleluiah!  You can now bring potatoes with you to Canada.  Just follow the simple rules below:
 
  • 10 lbs commercially packaged potatoes / per person amount
 
  • Must be in original packing from the store
 
 
4)  Life Saver
 
It 
is now perfectly legal for guests to bring their own lifejacket to use while fishing.
 
Below is an excerpt from the new regulation.  "If a person who is a resident of a country other than Canada brings on board a pleasure craft a personal flotation device or lifejacket for their personal use that conforms to the laws of that country and that is of an appropriate size and in good condition, the pleasure craft is not required to carry on board a personal flotation device or lifejacket for that person that meets the requirements of these Regulations."

The fishing has been exceptional the past couple of weeks.

In fact, after the slow spring start, things could not be better.  We are seeing great action on all area lakes.  Some stellar standouts include, Northwind, Fairview, Tyrol, Beatty and Oxaline.  
 
One of my favorite stories from last week includes a monster 30" walleye and scary 42" pike landed on Onaman.  Both trophies were landed within an hour of each other, near the same area on the lake.  Like most of the serious anglers that come here do, both fish where put back immediately after a quick photo or two.

Speaking of trophies, this week I will be putting another order in for Pasha Lake Trophy Club hats.

Congrats to all the trophy club inductees over the past month and a half.  There have been quite a few!
