Picture of the Month - February 2007

Speaking of snowmobiling, this past month we had a new toy arrive at Pasha Lake Cabins. Feast your eyes on our picture of the month. You are looking at Ski Doo’s latest model of utility sleds. The Skandic SWT V-800 has been chosen to be Pasha Lake’s winter work horse and if performance meets expectations, this machine will be a valuable asset in what we can offer for winter activities. The SWT is a liquid cooled, four stroke engine that not only delivers in terms of power, but also boosts a nice 23 miles / gallon. So far so good, with some of the work I have done so far. But the true test has yet to come. (PS – I just got back from a nice half hour powder ride on Pasha. It was awesome!)

We purchased the sled from Beaver Bay Sports in Beaver Bay, Minnesota. After calling all over the two counties, including all of Ontario, Alaska, Wyoming, Maine, Massachusetts and California, the only business that could promise a delivery date was in the quaint little town of Beaver Bay (not only that, they also beat ever ones else’s pricing). As part of the purchase, Mike & Cindy Wartman (owners of Bear Bay Sport Shop www. beaverbaysports.com) also put together an accessories package that enables the machine to have a mobile winch mounted on both the front and back. (Mike and his crew went way over the top when they put this thing together.) They welded a standard 2” receiving hitch as the mount for the winch which allows for flexibility in the attachments that can be put on both the front and back of the sled. The multifunction setup is perfect for all of our work applications and I would recommend it for any utility machine, including your own truck.
