Ontario Fishing Reports

Camp & Fishing Report April 27, 2017 Hello Chad, As I lumbered up the 801 for the first time in 2017, I was pleasantly surprised by current conditions. It was the first time in many years I didn’t have to worry about the precious cargo in the 18ft trailer behind my truck, in hot pursuit like a red fox to an unsuspecting snow shoe rabbit. https://youtube.com/watch?v=wP97KbWjt8U%3Frel%3D0 ____________________________________________________________ September 1, 2015 Unbelievable Bear Harvest and Amazing End-of-Summer Fishing Bittersweet. That’s about the only way to describe this time of year. As I type this, Michelle is packing up the van and…

Ontario Lakes with Big Trophy Walleyes

Mike The Guide 2008 Vacation July-August-2008 Chad & Michelle, Thanks for the great trip (July 26, 2008 – August 2, 2008). It was memorable and I’m sure my son Hunter and I will be up for repeat visits in the coming years. During our trip we fished Wilkinson, Tyrol, Northwind, Onaman, and another that I forget. Our first day on Wilkinson was slow so we hired Mike as a guide for the second day. Mike brought us out to Onaman and we filled out our limit of walleye in under an hour. We had a 25″ walleye for each license…

Ontario’s Best Walleye Fishing Lakes

Lots of Walleyes Gary Hamlin 9-Aug-2004 This story is going to sound a little “fishy” to most of you. Darrell took myself and three friends out for a day of fishing. I had heard the stories of his favorite spot, but we were not prepared for the numbers of fish we caught. We were on this spot for about 4.5 hours of fishing, the total number of walleyes caught was 491. Darrell took 150, I took 135, Jeff took 106, and John took 100. That adds up to the greatest day of fishing any of us has ever had. Thanks…

Ontario Spring Walleye Fishing

Spring Break Walleyes Lewis and Mitch Lawler, Brett Nelson, Ryan Allen 31-Mar-2005 Spring Break 2005, What a trip! It seems like every time we come up here, Darrell and Susie make it harder and harder to leave. Their kindness and helping hands are always appreciated. It was one of the funniest times any of us have ever experienced. The Duluth/Superior area has some fun things, but nothing like up here. The snow was as deep as ever, and temps were perfect. Brett, in the picture, caught this 10 1/2 lbs. lake trout on a nearby lake, while I (Mitch) caught…
